are Advocaat and Cherry
Brandy, don’t despair!
in-the-spirit has some fabulous cocktail recipes
featuring these classic cocktail ingredients which
give a contemporary spin to these more traditionally
thought of liqueurs!
Advocaat is a traditional liqueur made in Holland.
Warninks Advocaat has been produced to the same
recipe since it was first made in 1616. Made
only from 4 ingredients – brandy, sugar,
vanilla and egg yolks. The egg yolks are what
makes it so
yellow! There are no colourings or flavourings
added either. For more information on Warninks – check
out our previous feature from last year – Going
Dutch.
De Kuyper have been producing liqueurs since
1695. In 1995 they were awarded the prestigious
title
of Royal Distillers as part of their company
name by Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands in
recognition of their 300th anniversary and their
expertise
in making liqueurs. De
Kuyper Cherry Brandy is well known for its incomparable almondy flavour
which is comes from crushing the cherry kernels
together with the dark red cherries and then
subtly
enhancing them with exotic spices.
With the above build up, surely we must have
persuaded you not to overlook these classic
cocktail recipe
ingredients. Still need to be convinced?
